As I thought about today’s word for Microblogvember (echo), three thoughts kept coming to mind.

  1. Are all your various marketing messages extensions of your core brand beliefs and story? Shouldn’t they be?
  2. All hypothetical tomorrows are echoes of the decisions we make and the actions we take today, the only day we truly have.
  3. There is a lot of concern about echo chambers on social media, but the only new part of the equation is the latter. Social media allows for scale&emdash;connecting previously benign nodes of a belief cluster&emdash;and mass mobilization&emdash;which I think of in terms of weaponized Twitter mobs specifically. The act of social media splintering back out across multiple services and (hopefully) blogs could be a good thing. (Borrowing heavily from Manton on this one.)
