As I thought about today’s word for Microblogvember (echo), three thoughts kept coming to mind.
- Are all your various marketing messages extensions of your core brand beliefs and story? Shouldn’t they be?
- All hypothetical tomorrows are echoes of the decisions we make and the actions we take today, the only day we truly have.
- There is a lot of concern about echo chambers on social media, but the only new part of the equation is the latter. Social media allows for scale&emdash;connecting previously benign nodes of a belief cluster&emdash;and mass mobilization&emdash;which I think of in terms of weaponized Twitter mobs specifically. The act of social media splintering back out across multiple services and (hopefully) blogs could be a good thing. (Borrowing heavily from Manton on this one.)
